Old Chicago is within walking distance of my workplace. Every time I go there for lunch, I’m disappointed. Either the food tastes old, or the service is slow, or the order is wrong.
I swear I’ll never go there again, but then a few weeks go by and when a friend asks, “What sounds good for lunch?” somehow Old Chicago will pop back into my head.
What is it about that place that makes one forgive it and try just one more time?
Old Chicago is the hot ex-boyfriend of restaurants. Despite my better judgment, I’m always willing to give it another chance, and I always regret doing so.
