The company pet show this Saturday was great fun. I went with my friend Elizabeth, who caught on to using my camera very quickly and took these pictures.
It was great fun to run into a deputy I used to work with at the jail. His St. Bernard’s name was Bella. Here’s Bella and Moose together.

There were so many awesome dogs there.

Scooter the mixed breed rescue dog.

Spike Lee the min-pin

Gordo and Houston the boxers

Wally the bulldog
Moose and I took first place in the owner-pet look alike contest. I said we looked alike because we were both natural brunettes with auburn highlights, we both drooled when we sleep, and we both had impressive tails.

Moose and I with the first place ribbon and our choice of prize.
Moose made a lot of friends.

There were lots of talent competitions, but the finale was the best in show.
Everyone lined up for judging.

The tension was high. The competition was cutthroat.

Who won the best in show out of 40 animals?

I have started putting some pics up at The Sparky Chronicles again - the blog I try and maintain that is dedicated to my parents and the puppy I got them for Christmas last year.
If you’re not visiting there, you’re missing quality posts like this (starring my mom and Sparky):
THE NEWEST DESIGN!
Here at Puptex™ 19.5-hour Undergarments, we are always looking for the next new technology to help ladies look their best.
Puptex is proud to announce the release of its newest product: The Puptex™ Pup-guard Girdle.
This girdle is a real-live puppy that lifts, separates, smooshes, flattens, and detracts attention from those “problem areas” in our midriff and thighs that may be hindering us all from feeling as beautiful as possible. The Pup-guard girdle can restore your confidence, and its neutral color goes with any outfit.
The Puptex™ Pup-guard girdle: Don’t go for walkies or “car ride! car ride!” without it.

My dad and mom are at a family reunion this week, and Sparky is at home at the kennel (at our trusted vet’s office).
My parents called last night to tell me about the trip, but all my mom kept saying is how much her and my dad “sure miss Sparky” and they decided to leave early enough so that they can get home in time to pick up Sparky on Monday night instead of waiting until Tuesday.
They keep shaving the dog, which is stupid and unnecessary and causes me to hurl accusations of abuse, but other than that they are so in love with this dog and are convinced that ‘Puppy Sparkle and Shine’ is the best puppy ever whelped. I tried to remind my parents that they just remember all the other dogs we had as old dogs, and that all puppies are cute and playful and lovable. But even I have to admit - there really IS something special about Sparky.
My parents take him for a walk and people actually come out of their homes to see him. He goes to Petsmart and people swarm around him.
He always looks mad in his pictures but in real life he always looks like he’s smiling at you.

Moose goes to a pet grooming place in Parker, Colorado. His Personal Stylist is Josh.

He needed to get ready for a pet show coming up this Saturday, so Josh put the groom on him last Saturday.
Moose has already drooled all down his front legs, staining them again. I’ll have to re-wash them Friday night but I can’t get them as white as Josh can.
Moose’s chin is always stained dark brown from the dye in his Iams dog food I’m guessing. He’s a drooly boy.
Moose and I are going to enter an owner-pet look alike contest at the company pet show this weekend. I bought him a new collar and leash. Oh, and you can bet I’ll be taking LOTS of pictures!

One of my bunnies, Bun-G (pronounced “Bungee”) is elderly in rabbit terms. He’ll be about 8 years old this fall. Bunnies live about 8-10 years.
Despite his senior citi-bun-ship, he remains hip and cool to the latest trends. In fact, he’s a huge fan of the Dramatic Prairie Dog video that has swept the nation.
Bun-G is convinced that if he could just master the look, he’d be the next hot thing on the internet. Let’s check in on his rehearsals, shall we?
Who he is trying to emulate: Dramatic Prairie Dog (aka Dramatic Chipmunk or Dramatic Gopher, even though it’s painfully clear he’s probably an overweight prairie dog.)

Let’s see Bun-G’s try:

Well, you look good. But you don’t have that shocked look about you. Try again.

That’s not “shocked”! That’s the typical “Paris Hilton trying to get the paparazzi to get a shot that doesn’t show her droopy eye” pose. Try again.

The face has what it takes, but there’s a little too much paw-flailing about. What else you got?

Dude, maybe you should try imitating the cat playing the piano instead.

I have a CRAPLOAD of favorite doggy blogs that I try to visit at least weekly when I can. Out of those favorites, I do have my favorite dogs which I shall not mention. But I have to admit, Cody Bear tugs especially on my heart. Maybe it’s because his ears are so “changey”. Sometimes they’re up, sometimes at half-mast. I love changey ears on a dog.
Cody Bear now has a new rescued puppy friend - a Border Collie named Pickles. He arrived last Friday. Cody Bear’s personal assistant “Goodbear” is posting plenty of pictures, so stop by the main page for the most recent Pickles pics.
Two other favorite dogs of mine, Lauren’s Sammy and Jasmine (who I like to call Bunny Butt), are expecting a new rescue dog addition to their clan too. Avery is due to arrive July 12. Like Goodbear, Lauren is way into photography and I can’t wait to see the new pics of Avery the beagle mix!
